Steve Jobs made me do it!

Since more and more people are using devices which do not support Flash (Apple iPods, iPhones and iPads), I decided to see if we could convert our site from using Flash videos to using the newer HTML5 format. Since our videos were all Flash based, all you’d see when browsing our site with an Apple device is a blank space where the video clips should be.

In the end, it didn’t take long and we are now completely HTML5 compliant! So you can watch our videos on-line from your Apple super-toy – provided your’e lucky enough to have one! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for Christmas!

Cheers

Michelle and Michael

I started the day with Mick and the lads while Antonia got the preparations over at Michelle’s. Everyone was very relaxed, the only concern the intermittent showers.

We hadn’t been to St. Jude’s in Templeogue before, and I really liked the church – modern, bright and spacious. The weather held up and the guests enjoyed a relaxed reception in the lovely gardens of the Finnstown House Hotel in Lucan. While Antonia got a few shots of the guests and the ever elusive hotel mascot (a peacock), I filmed Michelle and Mick’s “photo shoot”.

See if you can spot the chap in the bridal party with an uncanny resemblance to a member of one of our very own Irish boy bands:

A great day in Cavan

We recently had the pleasure of filming the wedding of Blathnaid and Paul in Belturbet, Co. Cavan and then onto the fabulous Slieve Russell Hotel in Ballyconnel.

The weather was fantastic and the amount of musical talent I saw among the guests and relations of the couple was staggering. The church music was performed by a group of their friends under the direction of the bride’s brother. The instruments featured drums, double bass, guitars, keyboards and more – not to mention a trio of excellent singers. I was really blown away by these guys. The trumpet intro of The Beatle’sAll You Need Is Love” filled the church to the rafters as the bride entered.

Back at the hotel, more talent; as guests were entertained by a traditional Irish group accompaning three Irish dancers.

The night’s entertainment was provided by The Classic Beatles, with some help from the Groom, Bride and other members of the wedding party.

Have a look at this clip for a snippet of their day:

Trailers

Recently, we’ve been trying our hand at creating trailers for our wedding films.  I don’t think I’ll ever get bored in this business as there are always new things to try and new things to learn.

During the wedding of Keelyn and Ros in Bansha Church, Co. Tipperary (and then onto the lovely and classy Kilshane House), we had a lot of fun and laughs. I decided to put together a little “teaser” trailer for their day which would capture some of the fun and lively spirits. The result was this little clip which we published on the web for the couple about a week before they collected the finished DVD’s:

Keelyn and Ros were delighted with the result, which we included as an “extra” on their DVD’s.

For the actual highlights sequence of their wedding film, we went for a more romantic theme – but there is still some mischievousness in that too!

Welcome to our blog

Finally decided to get with the times and set up a blog!

Our plan is to use this to tell you about what we’re up to, planning or simply shoot the breeze. We also hope to use this space to allow some of our couples to share the video highlights of their big day with friends and family around the world.

Regards
