Aileen and Eddie’s Christmas wedding in Bennekerry

We filmed Aileen’s sister’s wedding last year in Bennekerry Church, so it was great to see all the familiar faces again in Carlow just after Christmas. After the ceremony, we visited Duckett’s Grove. It’s a pretty unusual looking house for an estate home (you’ll see a shot in the video clip below showing a tower with a turret), but the gardens out back were perfect for photos and we were blessed with some lovely golden evening light! Then on to Woodford Dolmen Hotel, just outside Carlow town for the reception.

Fantastic day in Wexford with Cynthia and Joseph

We had a fantastic day down at the Seafield in Wexford. It was a magical wedding, not to mention the incredibly talented bridal party (check out some of the dance moves in the highlights clip below!).

We also had the pleasure of meeting and working with Julie Romanenko for the first time. Check out her web site, there are some lovely pictures of Cynthia and Joseph’s day on the main page: Julie Photo Art.

There were so many great moments, but just to pick one, I knew we were in for a great time when the groom’s family arrived at the ceremony:

Rachel and Richard, music and military

There were some wonderful touches at Rachel and Richard’s wedding, with Richard’s buddies providing an army guard of honour with bagpipes player; while Rachel’s friends performed some fantastic music throughout the ceremony – along with a wonderful version of the Game of Thrones theme! The ceremony was in the the Church of Our Lady of Mercy in Crosschapel just outside Blessington. The reception was at The Keadeen in Newbridge.

Lorraine and Peter’s big day in Navan and Slane

It’s been a while since we filmed a wedding in that lovely church St. Mary’s, in Navan town. It’s such a wonderfully big church with a fantastic balcony and lovely “old world” light! The reception was at the Conyngham Arms in Slane. We hadn’t been there before so were delighted to find it to be a beautifully restored 18th Century coaching inn.

Here are the highlights from the day:

Something a little different for Yvonne and Noel’s wedding

I thought I’d try a completely different approach for the “highlights” clip for Yvonne and Noel’s wedding. Instead of the normal 5 minute summary clip, I put together a much longer piece which runs in dual timelines, both converging briefly towards the end of the clip. There was a lot more effort than normal, but I think it was worth it. I’m delighted with the results!

The ceremony was at Trinity College, Dublin. I love filming at Trinity! It is one of the most beautiful churches in the country. The TCD Choir performed during the ceremony and were an absolute delight as always! We stopped off at Coliemore Harbour on the way to the reception at Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel Killiney.
