Anne-Marie and Gareth

Anne-Marie and Gareth’s wedding was our first in Lanesborough, Co. Longford, and it promised to be very unique and special indeed. The ceremony was in St. Mary’s church in Legan village. Then by car to Lanesborough where the bridal part took a barge to the reception: A Marquee on Gareth’s family’s farm overlooking Lough Ree. It was a very special day and I’m delighted with the way the DVD turned out. Check out the highlights here:

Jennifer and John

Ten years to the day before Jennifer and John’s wedding, Antonia and I were in Rome with John’s sister for her wedding. Antonia was bridesmaid and I was behind the camera (I look better that way, trust me!). So, as you can imagine, being asked to film John and Jennifer’s big day was a real honour.

The morning began with Antonia visiting Jennifer’s house while I went to John’s. Then it was onto St. Vincent de Paul Church, Marino for the ceremony. I’ve always loved that church. It’s big and bright and always looks great on camera. I was able to put a third camera in the balcony for some great shots of the bride walking up the aisle and also of some wide shots of the ceremony itself. Oh, and these guys were absolutely fantastic: The Gospel Project. Check them out if you get a chance.

At the The Four Seasons hotel, the guests were greeted by a reception with a jazz band and caricaturist, who was busily delighting the guests with a new picture every few minutes! There is a shot of him at work in the clip below. I must say, this is a very stylish and beautiful hotel and everyone seemed very happy with the way they were looked after by the staff.

Deborah and Darren`

The day before and after Debbie and Darren’s wedding were not the most promising if you were a “fair weather wedding guest”! But the day itself was just perfect. There were a few showers here and there, but none when we wanted to be outside. Groom, guests and bride with bridesmaids all managed to arrive dry at The Sacred Heart Church, Killinarden, Tallaght.

I, of course, had arrived earlier and was getting some establishing shots; one of which is the camera flying across the mass book. As I was getting this shot, a very kind priest called Fr. Tom pointed out to me that the current open page was for a funeral and that might look a little morbid for a wedding! He quickly changed to the correct page, leaving me gratefully getting one of my favorite shots. Throughout the rest of the day, I was to discover that Fr. Tom, just like all the other guests at this wedding were very friendly, down to earth, nice people

The reception was at the Castleknock Hotel. We’ve been here many times before and have always enjoyed the grounds, large reception areas and friendliness of the staff.

A great surprise was in store for the guests after the first few dances: Celtic Rhythm performed a set for us. These are a marvelous troop of Irish Dancers who put on short shows for weddings, parties and other events.

Here are the highlights of Deborah and Darren’s day:

Laura and Philip teaser trailer

The day of Laura and Philip’s wedding was a sunny oasis in the middle of weeks of rain! The ceremony was in Tallaght and then onto the Garden Exhibition Centre, Kilquade for photographs. We hadn’t actually been there before, and if you’re ever in the area, you should pay a visit. It includes many separate gardens, each designed by leading designers.

The reception was in the Parkview Hotel, Newtownmountkennedy, Co. Wicklow. A lovely setting with a board walk overlooking a man made park and pond. Evening entertainment was be Springbreak, the ’80′s music band. Check out their website, some really good and funny stuff there!

Below is a “teaser” trailer for the final DVD:

Jill and Anthony

Meeting Jill and Anthony during the run up to their wedding and on the day itself was a real pleasure. I think they had decided that no matter what, they were going to have a lot of fun on their wedding day, and that attitude certainly infected all the guests as you can see from the highlights clip below.

The church was St. Patricks on the Ashbourne to Swords road, and the reception was the ever popular Station House Hotel, Kilmessan. They really have some lovely grounds at that hotel; especially the wooded area you can see the sequence below.

Finally, the always excellent Vertigo Wedding Band entertained into the night.

Enjoy!

Ciara and David

There’s a lovely church outside Blessington in Cross Chapel where the sun beamed down just long enough for Ciara and David’s wedding day. With all the rain lately, they were blessed with the weather (yes, a wedding day cliché, I know). After the church and some family photos, the bridal party went on to the beautifully restored Palladian style eighteenth century Castletown House in Celbridge. The grounds are certainly lovely for photographs, but if you ever get a chance to visit, I’d strongly recommend one of the guided tours of the house itself. Antonia and I did the tour a few years ago and it was fascinating.

The reception was at The Hamlet Court Hotel near Enfield Co. Meath. As usual, the staff looked after everyone extremely well. In fact, I am always bowled over by how friendly and helpful the staff are at this hotel. They genuinely go out of their way to ensure that everyone has a good a time as possible.

And here’s a little clip of the highlights of the day:

Helen and Johnny’s wedding

It’s been a while since we have done a wedding down in Wexford, so our visit to Duncannon on a beautiful sunny day was a real treat. Helen and Johnny got married at Our Lady Star of the Sea church.

After the ceremony, it was off to the beach where some snazzy wellies were donned by the ladies in the bridal party to protect those wedding shoes! The setting was stunning and both the photographer and ourselves got some lovely shots.

The reception was at Dunbrody Country house. We hadn’t been here before and I must say it is a fabulous place! The hotel itself is based around an 1830s Georgian manor and the grounds are great for a variety of photos.

We put together a quick trailer for the day and you can see it below:

As part of every wedding, we end each DVD or Blu-ray with a highlights clip of the day. Hope you like:

Theresa and Gavin

Having filmed Gavin’s sister’s wedding a few years back, it was a pleasure to meet and film Theresa and Gavin’s big day. Especially since they had met at said previous wedding and we had managed to get (sort of) that meeting on film. We opened Theresa and Gavin’s DVD with a “flashback” scene showing that fateful meeting four years ago! A really nice idea that the couple themselves had thought of.

The ceremony was in St. Peter and Paul’s church in Balbriggan and then onto Ardgillan Castle for some photos. Finally, the reception was at the The Bracken Court Hotel on the main street in Balbriggan.

Denise and John

Denise and John had their ceremony in St. Francis Church in Priorswood, Dublin – a modern church just off Clonshaugh Drive.

Then it was onto the always wonderful Roganstown Hotel in Swords, north of Dublin. Their stunning grounds and classical interiors were the perfect setting for some great photos. The afternoon and early evening entertainment was provided by Tropical Storm with their unique versions of some classics from the last 40 years.

Steve Jobs made me do it!

Since more and more people are using devices which do not support Flash (Apple iPods, iPhones and iPads), I decided to see if we could convert our site from using Flash videos to using the newer HTML5 format. Since our videos were all Flash based, all you’d see when browsing our site with an Apple device is a blank space where the video clips should be.

In the end, it didn’t take long and we are now completely HTML5 compliant! So you can watch our videos on-line from your Apple super-toy – provided your’e lucky enough to have one! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for Christmas!

Cheers
